Rick Benjamin

A fresh redesign for a generous poet.

  • The website was built responsively and scales seamlessly on most devices, from mobile through desktop.

  • The tabbed panels at the top of the page allow for easy access to both titles, but focus initial attention on the current title

  • The new layout offers additional space to display current activities and additional work

  • Working with a title, a typeface, and an image from a painting by David Hazlett, I created this book jacket for Rick Benjamin's collection of poetry.

Project Details

I was brought in several years ago to design the book jacket for “Passing Love.” At that time, I designed a microsite to publicize and sell copies of the book. Upon releasing his second title, “Floating Worlds,” Rick asked me to redesign the site to make space for both books. He also needed to have a place to display current activities and additional work. We decided to keep the site to a focused, single page. The tabbed panels at the top page allow for easy access to both titles, but focus initial attention on the current title. The website was built responsively and scales seamlessly on most devices, from mobile through desktop.

Responsibilities
